Positivity for my day!

The last couple of weeks have been challenging for me. New beginnings, self doubts, and uncertainty clouding my head. As I progress on my next journey into the big world of writing, I wonder how my first instalment faired. Without any idea about how it was perceived, I am wondering whether it is in me to continue.

That's why today, I am all about the positive vibes!!

Book Two - Title Review & Excerpt!! :)

As I approach 30,000 words into my next novel, I have settled on a title. One that I believe fits my storyline perfectly!

So book two of California Dreaming will be titled - Sins of the Father.

this is the story of Sherlyn and Stephen.............

Synopsis...

Sins of the father - California Dreaming 2

After the death of her father, Sherlyn discovers hidden truths about him that she could have never suspected. When her mother tragically dies as well, it is like her whole world has fallen apart.

When the smoke faded and life started to settle again, Stephen's parents make the decision to move him back to California.
With the threat eliminated he was now free.

But what is the definition of freedom...

One girl struggling to find her way..... A boy trying to control his demons from the past.

Can a shy girl curb the controlling nature of the boy she loves....

Will either of them survive the sins of the father.....

Book Excerpt -

Stephen -

I look up to see Ben, Luke, and Kyle watching me, monitoring my movements. I hadn’t realised until then that my leg was shaking, tapping continuously.  The worried look on their faces says it all. “You can’t sit around, and wait for the day, when she finally comes back to you.” Ben eventually starts, a frustrated sigh escaping his tight lips. “If you have learnt anything from me and Sophie, you would know not to sit on your hands. You are wasting time, time you could be buried balls deep in that girl. Stop being a morbid bastard, and go fucking get her. You know she doesn’t want Sean, so stop being a dick.”

Laughing aloud, I accept the high five he is chasing. That asswipe is a crude fucker at the best of times, today, obviously being no exception. “Alright, enough. I get the message.” I throw out to no one in particular. The three sitting across from me are my brothers, my family. They shit me at the best of times, but I love them. If anyone knows what I need, it’s these three. Time to stop acting like a douche, and make things right with Sheri. “Just one thing though,” I call out, halting them in their tracks. Turning back with puzzled looks, Kyle answers for the others. “What?”

“For fucks sake would you please do something about Sindy, she will not take no for an answer.” Cracking up, they start laughing, as they turn back around to head out of my room. “My pleasure,” calls Luke, when it all dies down. “I’ve been itching to get into that girl’s panties since we got back. I’m happy to take one for the team.”

Some quotes to sum up my day ;)

Review: The Way Back To Me

The Way Back To Me The Way Back To Me by Anne Mercier
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

This book was gifted to me for an honest review xx
For me, after reading everything Anne has written, this has to be her best. It is different from her usual writing, but it is a story that you will love.
There is so much I can say about this book, it was a heartbreaking tale of love and loss. One that I could relate to more than I imagined.
It is an emotional story of Olivia, a girl who has lost not only the love of her life, but her friends as well. Her journey from that moment onwards is heart wrenching and very emotional. One that you would never wish upon anyone and something you could never envision yourself going through.
Cameron, although portrayed in the worst possible way, is her key to finding her way back. The one person who knows Olivia well enough to bring her back from the blackness. You really did feel their pain.
Their story is one you can't not read!
It is an addictive story that has you wanting to ignore everything else just to finish it in one sitting.

Review: Dared

Dared Dared by Kristina Borden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was gifted this back for an honest review.
Having never read anything else by Kristina I wasn't sure what to expect.
Once I started it, I was hooked. I loved the storyline, more so because it was different to what you would normally expect. The twist that Kristina integrates into her story, is one that I never would have expected or saw coming and I really liked how that played out.
For me reading and writing is a release, a place to lose myself after the everyday stresses. What I love is an addictive storyline, and well defined characters, and I got that and so much more when I read Dared. I loved Summer's sassiness and how she carried herself. Her character is one you can relate to, very likeable and real. Damien on the other hand is what you would expect as a bad boy, and he sounds delicious.. so that helps too :)
It is definitely a book I would highly recommend to my friends.

Some more quotes that make me smile - Heroes & Villains :)

A couple from Sophie's excerpts.

Goodmorning - Heroes & Villains - short book quotes :)

Parts of Heroes & Villains - my debut novel made me smile all over again. I am going over it as an ebook format to smooth out any little errors / mistakes before I apply for an after published revision of it.

Once my professional review is done in April (it has been pushed back :( ) I have the option to make changes. I am using my time before that to highlight things that were missed.

Sooo in having to re read my own book I have found little quotes that have made me smile and laugh.

I have included a few seeing as today is a happy day for me and I want to share my happiness around :)

These are just a couple from excerpts of Ben's that also bring a smile to my face.

My thoughts for today xx

A day of rememberance for me....

A day to reflect on the things we take for granted, that we cannot get back once it is gone.

Life is too short to hold grudges, to cause misery to others. We should be living life to the fullest, enjoying what time we have left and surrounding ourselves with love and happiness....

My goal for my life going forward, is to make the most of what i can achieve and not bask in the pettiness, and jealousy of those who choose to live their lives in negativity.

Enjoy you day xx :)

She used to be perky, fun, and full of life—everything I hated about girls and their bullshit exterior. People called her bubbly; I called her "fake-as-hell."

The edgy, dark, lonely girl in front of me was not the Olivia Brennan I knew from high school—far from it, actually. I knew the story—the whole town knew the story, we witnessed it all. It happened in the blink of an eye and the girl we knew was gone.

But I refuse to watch it anymore—I can’t stand it. I’m going to fix it—fix her. It’s time I showed Olivia her way back…

Back to the girl she used to be.

My Marketing Material has arrived!!

Sneak Preview - Book 2 - Coming Soon!!

As I believe I have mentioned, I am about 22,000 words into my next book. This one focuses on Sherlyn and Stephen. There is mention of the others (as you would expect) but if I had favourites after Sophie and Ben, it would have to be these two!!

Here is a little sneak peak at book 2, hopefully ready for release by the end of March 2016 :)

Chapter One

What do you do when everything you have taken for granted, turns out to be a lie...?

Sherlyn

When my parents got divorced, I did what any other child in my position would do I blamed myself… And that was when the guilt first set in.
Then the “what ifs” start…
What if I was not so naughty…If only I could listen, and do as I am told for once…
And so on…
Did I mention I was only six years old when all this occurred?

Being that I was just a child, I was oblivious to everything that did not revolve around me. If its honesty you are looking for, and I think I need to be honest with myself as well - I do not recall my father being around much anyway. My fondest memories from around that time only included my mother.

Ah, my mother – now there was a beautiful woman. She could have a man eating out of the palms of her hands without even raising a sweat. My father used to tell me, that she had a face that could stop traffic. She was mesmerizing.

He himself was by no means unattractive.

He once told me a story a few years ago about how they met, it was a little on the crude side, but that did not stop him. I had always wondered, but was never game enough to ask.

His version was that he went to Vegas on business; he was tired, hungry and horny. His thoughts were to check into a motel, grab a bite to eat and call for a little company for the night.

His recollection had him landing at the airport, and heading towards the car rentals. It was there he stumbled across a pretty thing with her ass staring him straight in the face. She was bent over, in front of the counter.

Apparently, she had been picking up the contents of her handbag off the floor.

When she got to her feet, she had him speechless. He couldn’t even string together a sentence. He reckons all he can remember from that moment on was her batting her eyelashes at him. The next thing he knew was him waking up the next morning, with her beside him in his hotel bed. He was fucked if he could work out the hold she had on him, but it was one that would last for quite a few years.

Happiness Quotes to brighten my day!! :)

Review: Dirty Bad Secrets

Dirty Bad Secrets Dirty Bad Secrets by Jade West
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, what a story.
To be honest, I was blown away. This is the first novel I have read of Jade's and I loved it. It really is a raw tale of a lifestyle shunned by most people. Her characters Faye and Andy had a real feel to them that you just couldn't miss. I think each of us has a bit of Faye in them. Most of us are naturally submissive to a point, but all of us are looking for that one person who sees us as their everything. Faye's character is no different. Her story starts with her running away from Venice, away from Vincent Blackthorne - Master, Domme - author of BDSM novels. Back to Club Explicit, a BDSM club she helped to create.
Andy Morgan, Faye's partner in Club Explicit, but also a man who is less than thrilled about Faye's return. Faye's return dredges up feelings Andy would prefer left buried.
Their story sees them working through their issues the only way they know how, pushing the boundaries, a breaking of wills so to speak.
This is a story of heartbreak, and secrets that could cause destruction or set them on the ultimate path towards love.

Reviewers / Book Bloggers Required! :)

Time to put myself out there just that little bit more and ask for some help!  I have put together a google form requesting some reviewer / book bloggers to offer me unbiased, honest reviews on my book.

It is lovely having friends and family tell you that they love it, but sometimes you need a complete stranger to give you their opinion!

Sooo..... that is what I am going to do.

Below is the link for anyone interested in helping me out. :)

Thanking you in advance...

Book Bloggers Required!!

Over the next week I am going to be receiving quite a few Ebook Stubs to do with as I please.
What I am looking at doing is offering some of these up for free in return for honest reviews and need some help finding Reviewers!!

I know that the formatting needs a little tinkering with, nothing major there, but I just want to know other unbiased reactions to my story. Are there others out there that love the story as much as I do?
Are they keen to see what direction I have taken with the second instalment?

Maybe I should create a review team? :)

Any suggestions / offers?
